• When I Fail… •

…today,
and last week
and last year
and so many
moments in between.
every time
i’ve called myself
the names that
someone else
slapped on me.
i’ve failed
in ways both
microscopic
and grand
but never so
much as when
i believed my
own hands
didn’t contain
all the magic
they needed
to succeed.
i’ve failed before
and i will fail
again,
but from every
failure i grow,
and from every
triumph, i mend.
