Haiku, Me & You

One of the few traditions I have on this blog is to annually celebrate one of my favorite forms of poetry, the haiku! Here for you on this National Haiku Day are five bite-sized poetry pieces.

I wish I could name
all the reasons you matter.
There’s not enough time…

Before you, there was
only an empty night sky.
You became my stars.

I never believed
I deserved this kind of smile.
Joy, because of you.

I’m alone with all
my longing words. But with you?
We’re a grand story.

Maybe we won’t be
meant to be, but my heart won’t
ever forget you.
