When it feels the world is burning, the thing I turn to most is poetry. It is something that brings me comfort and hope, and in so many words, it reminds me why this life, with all its twists and turns, is worth it. That’s why I am so beyond excited to announce that this March, I will be offering my first ever virtual poetry writing workshop.
The workshop will take place on March 20th via Zoom, and will include readings and prompts to inspire both beginners and seasoned poets to write new works. There is no experience necessary to sign up, just an excitement for poetry and a hope to spend an afternoon creating something new. Tuition for the workshop is $80, but as you’ll read below, you can enter the giveaway on Twitter for a chance to win one of two free spaces.
Attending writers will also have the opportunity to submit up to 3 poems prior to the workshop, which I will then provide a written critique for, so they can explore ways to elevate their work. Once the workshop has concluded, folks will also receive an invite to a new discord server for writers where they can keep in touch with the writers they meet and form a community to keep uplifting and encouraging one another in the future. If there’s one thing I have learned that helps keep me writing above all else, it is a supportive community, and so I’m excited to provide a space for that to happen.
You can learn more about the workshop at the link below, or visit my Twitter, where the giveaway I mentioned is offering two free spaces to the workshop. There’s a number of workshops I have been able to attend in the past because of the kindness of others, so I am happy to pay that forward by giving these two free spaces to writers looking to break into the world of poetry.
I hope to see some of you there, and can’t wait to read the beautiful words you may weave together.
