The desire to journal online stemmed from a deep seeded passion for storytelling, something which has become her driving force in life. From personal blogs to geeky podcasts, to full length novels and award winning screenplays—her work always boils down to telling a story.

The particular adventure that has been Elayna Musings began back in January of 2015 when she shared her first post, Becoming Elayna. Since then, she’s started a YouTube channel, co-founded the writing website IndiePen Ink, been on panels at the nation’s two largest comic conventions (Comic Con International: San Diego and New York Comic Con) published her first short story, Continuum, and tweeted a lot of gifs. She’s also spent much of that time hard at work on They Are the Last, a YA space fantasy novel that she came up with one day while not paying attention in her 7th grade math class.14718855_10207138365285404_6356092603541803423_n

When not sharing stories and other musings here, Elayna can usually be found professionally geeking out as part of the Social Media Team of MuggleNet.com, the world’s #1 Harry Potter fansite, where she is one of the Co-Producers of the site’s Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them podcast, SpeakBeasty. She also spends the better part of her year vehemently encouraging and supporting other writers in the Philadelphia region as a Municipal Liaison for National Novel Writing Month, more affectionately known to writers as NaNoWriMo. It is through NaNoWriMo that every November since 2004 (with the exception of 2012) Elayna has attempted to write a 50,000 word novel in one month.

When not doing any of the above, Elayna delights in running about the city of Philadelphia with her camera in hand. Most of her ‘spare time’ is spent wishing she knew how to quit the infinite scroll on tumblr, or proudly defending her fellow Hufflepuffs from the haters. (Bonus house points if she does both of those at once…)
