Author. Blogger. Producer. Fangirl.
Elayna Mae Darcy is an author and filmmaker from Philadelphia, PA. She is unapologetically proud of her city, where she attended Temple University’s Film and Media Arts program. There she founded and oversaw operations for the student film group Mirrorwall Films, which has since evolved into the multi-media arts collective, Magic Key Media.
While she has been a blogger in some form or another since she was 13, Elayna Musings began as just a blog back in January of 2015 with the post, Becoming Elayna. Since then, it’s evolved into the digital home for all of her creative endeavors, including a YouTube channel, an Instagram page for her poetry and artwork, and a portfolio for her freelance photography.
When not writing or blogging, Elayna can usually be found engaging with online fandom communities, or attending the nearest convention. She spent 5 years working as a Social Media team member at MuggleNet.com, where she also helped co-found and co-produce the website’s Fantastic Beasts podcast, SpeakBeasty. She has previously been seen on panels at MISTI-Con, New York Comic Con, and San Diego Comic Con. She also has been an enthusiastic participant of National Novel Writing Month since 2004, and has served as a Municipal Liaison for her region’s chapter since 2015.
As an author, Elayna has previously published a sci-fi short story, CONTINUUM, in Issue 02 of the Wizards in Space literary magazine. Her first digital collection of poetry, elluminations, vol. 0, can be found both here on this blog, and on Medium. Her first book, a collection of poetry called Unraveling Light, will be released this July, thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign run during National Poetry Month. She is also hard at work on They Are the Last, a YA sci-fi book that will be the first in a planned trilogy.
