The Believer

faith has never bloomed easy for me,
i’ve had to till hard soil to make
anything grow, cut my hands on
brambles of doubt that choked out
anything green & hopeful that
dared try and blossom.

but as any tender knows,
the patience was worth it,
and oh, the way faith grows
in my gardens now
that these seeds of belief
have unfurled above
the earth, ushering in a
sacred ripening season
